A rescue, this original 1967 Classic Drip Edge / Fender Bassman Blackline amp has become a real treasure, please read to find out why....
I've owned, restored, and extensively played at least 10 Blackface and Silverface Bassman heads over the past few years. Without question this amp has the best responsiveness and tone of any...including Blackface models. Everything has been checked thoroughly and vetted. Parts were replaced with the very best. It's like a "new" Bassman with classic iron. The amp is touch sensitive and very articulate.
There are no circuit mods to the amp. The KT-66 tubes (Ruggedized 6L6GC's) add an almost "4-D" presence. It's the very best 60's Bassman head I have played. Super clean, It sparkles, and has deep lows. Replacement parts were swapped with the very best available, giving this Bassman a "like new," low noise floor (it idles quietly). The tubes, caps, and resistors have been individually tested for performance to spec. Essentially, this Bassman's circuit is like new, with Sprague Atom capacitors and KT-66 Gold Lion tubes. She rips and is a phenomenal pedal platform.
Cosmetically this amp came into the shop as a salvage unit. The cab was lost to time. However, beyond the faceplate scratches, and no cabinet, everything else was is great shape (no previous mods). Since the amp could never see original "mint" again, that gave us license to replace as many failed components we could, our only concern being tone.
I purchased this amp a couple years ago as a back up to my 1965 Fender BF Bassman. I bought it to preserve it, to restore it, and eventually, to pass it on. My goal was to make it the best possible, safely playable, "glassy articulate", 1967 SF Fender Bassman example that could be found. I believe that goal has been accomplished. There is very little, (in my opinion) that this SF can't do. It plays rock solid, handles pedals well, and is easy to use. It is fun to gig with, and even easier in the studio. It excels at all volumes. Crystal clear cleans and fat saturated overdriven tones. From Bass, to Rhythm, to Lead, this amp does it all with classic Fender tone. It is a recording studio standard. It is a GREAT, safe, reliable and affordable amp to begin your vintage journey, or a fine example to add to your collection. The Bassman is the standard amp by which all others are compared.

Cosmetics and Condition
Please review the photos closely as they are a better descriptor than I.
The original SF face plate ships with the unit. The black tolex covering has some small corner imperfections, repairs, nicks, chaffing, and otherwise signs of life on the road. The cabinet is solid. The hardware appears to be all original with pitting and rusting of the chrome components. The showpiece blue flame maple grill makes this amp the life of the party. Feet were replaced with "Mesa" style rubber, for noise dampening (awesome). Original (replaced) parts are included with the amp. Thanks you for reading. Rock on!
