Best known for his work with Stevie Ray Vaughan, this High Power Tweed Twin was recovered, serviced, signed & dated 34 years ago by the Amp Dr. - Cesar Diaz. Diaz also famously worked on Eric Clapton's Tweed Twins. Mojo oozes from this amp. 
 
The legend is true. It is different than any other Fender amp I have played, (and I've played them all) with the astonishing ability to cut through the mix without having to alter your guitar tone or use a pedal. That's the first thing you notice...the power of the original 2x12 Alnico's. They "push" the air, and with it, raw tone, through the listener. Loud or soft, doesn't matter. You feel the Twin in your bones. It's an amazing experience. From there you go on to the gain tones....Strat or Les Paul, it doesn't matter...it's an amp like no other. Listen to Bonamassa or JM....those magical tones.
 
This amp is a piece of history an investment, & heirloom. It comes from the estate of a blues musician, enthusiast, and friend of Diaz. Over decades he had amassed a collection of the finest amplifiers, the High Power Tweed Twin (of course) the crown jewel of that collection. Its the best of the best. There is no telling who has played through this Twin....
 
Particulars...
Original Iron & no "significant" mods to the circuit (Diaz added two metal film resistors and replaced a small section of heater wiring).
The amp was recovered in 1990 by Cesar Diaz, signed and dated. Recently the tweed was touched up and serviced by Armadillo Amp Works in TX (Will Dyke).
Completely serviced - tone stacks kept in place - One electrolytic capacitor had been replaced (original stuffed) with the appropriate schematic value. Other than that, virtually untouched.
Electrolytic caps have been tested and pass ESR meter testing (believe it or not...amazing).
There is no significant hum or hiss. Power / Bias is stable. Plays amazing.
Tubes have been tested, matched, and optimized for low noise
Power Transformer wiring is in excellent condition. All wiring is in excellent condition. (as a tech this means two things. 1. The amp hasn't been overheated for extended periods. 2. The integrity of the wiring insulation suggests that the iron is also in excellent shape.)
Original tone circuit caps (mojo from the factory)
Original Speakers (they have been re-coned correctly, so good to go for years).
Jacks and Plugs fully lubricated and serviced
Check out the Repro cover of the finest quality. Actually, the cover is something to talk about...the repro's of this quality aren't made anymore and are generally considered a hen's tooth find....made from the original Fender fabric, these covers are no longer available.
 
Cosmetics and Condition
Please review the photos closely as they are a better descriptor than I.
The "iron" is all original (Power, Output, choke, etc...). This amp was recovered well by Cesar Diaz and recently touched up by Armadillo Amp Works (Will Dyke). The cabinet is solid.  The handle has been replaced. Original handle ships with the amp. The speakers are the original Jensen (w/ bell ends) and have been re-coned (so no issues). The amp is super clean. THE classic Fender tone.
